This day of Encounter begins with a scenic drive to Mossman. Upon arrival, participants will have an opportunity to engage in ecological mindfulness through contemplative prayer practices and explore opportunities for personal ecological conversion through a recontextualised experience of Scripture and wisdom writings. A Traditional Custodian will lead participants on a Dreamtime Walk through the rainforest to learn of the importance of being in relationship with Country and the interconnectedness of the Kuku Yalanji people to their ancestral lands. Within the lush surrounds of Mossman Gorge, participants are able to reflect on their relationship with self, Creation, others and God and expand their understanding of a local First Nation’s perspective to relax the body, nourish the mind and revive the spirit.
