Term 2 – Face to Face – Aspiring to Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher Certification
This dedicated workshop day on Friday 15 May, is designed to support and strengthen the journey toward certification. This practical and engaging day will guide participants through the certification application process, with a strong focus on developing a deep understanding of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST).
Teachers will be supported to reflect on their own practice, consider how their evidence aligns with the Standards, and gain clarity about what quality, standards-based evidence looks like at the Highly Accomplished and Lead career stages.
Whether you are just beginning your certification journey or looking to restart or reinvigorate an existing application, this workshop provides valuable time, expert guidance and collegial support to help you move forward with confidence.
Prior to registration, aspirants are asked to gain their Principal’s support for their application, complete the AITSL Self-Assessment Tool and use these results to guide goal-setting discussions with their Principal and bring artefacts of their present practice to begin evidencing the Standards.
The day will be facilitated by Bernadette Moodie, Education Officer, Catholic Education Queensland Limited (CEQL), Tammy Lacey, HAT (OLHOC) and Madonna Archibald, Lead Teacher (OLHOC) who will share their experiences and knowledge of the process as well as provide opportunities to work with participants in planning and preparing their portfolios and consider timelines for submitting their application
Term 2 & 3 Online Sessions – Supporting Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher Aspirants
This series of network sessions has been designed to support teachers pursuing Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher certification. We welcome teachers, Principals and Assistant Principals seeking a deeper understanding of the process.
Across five targeted sessions, participants will gain practical guidance on the application process, alongside strategies for constructing, developing and annotating a high-quality folio of evidence. These sessions are facilitated by Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers who bring valuable, lived experience of the process.
