This day of Encounter begins with a cruise across Trinity Inlet to Fitzroy Island. Upon arrival, participants will be invited into an outdoor experience of deep listening to Country, Acknowledgement of Country, and prayer (weather permitting). A variety of experiences within nature are available for self-selection, with options for re-energising, rejuvenating, re-creating or reflecting. Through a dialogical process, participants will explore integral ecology through the lens of Laudato Si and with Scripture from Genesis. Participants will engage in a process of synodality through spiritual conversations on wisdom writings to continue the practice of deep listening to one another.
Preparation: Self-paced preparation session prior to experience (approximately 1 hour).
Friday 5 September 7:30am4:45pm; departing from Reef Fleet Terminal for an experience on Fitzroy Island.
Registration: Participants need to register through iLearn by 22 Aug 2025
Accreditation: 5 hrs to Teach in a Catholic School (1 hour preparation – 4 hours experience)
APST: 4, 6, 7
Approximate Costing: $160 invoiced to schools.
Withdrawals after the cut-off date will incur FULL FEE.
