ECT Coordinator and Mentor Network days
The ECT Coordinators and Mentor Network Days are designed to bring together coordinators and mentors to connect, share experiences, and identify future needs and areas of support.
The focus of each Term will change aligned to changing needs of Early Career Teachers.
The first event will be “Term 1 Essential ECT support – onboarding, resources and support plans.”
In addition to this these networks are an opportunity to:
- Build your professional network with like-minded colleagues.
- Access support and guidance from peers who understand the challenges of your role.
- Problem-solve together, exchanging practical strategies and ideas that work in real school settings.
- Ensure CES hears and supports the professional learning needs of this important career stage.
- Whether you’re looking for advice, inspiration, a chance to connect, or support to effectively onboard your ECTS next year these events are for you.
Term 1 ECT Mentor Essentials
We are excited to invite all new and aspiring Mentors (and pre-service teacher supervisors) to the Term One ECT Mentor Essentials. This highly practical workshop has been designed to upskill those new to this space or those who would like to brush up on the AITSL standards and up to date evidence based skills and strategies to support early career teachers as they transition into their new role. The day would also be highly beneficial to those teachers looking to move into supervising pre-service teachers.
The day will cover:
- What is Mentoring and the role of the Mentor
- Adult Learning Principals
- Mentoring mindset, stages, skills and strategies
- Undertaking observations and providing feedback
- The Teacher Registration process
This face-to face event will be followed up with an online session in Term 3
