Discover the power of your strengths
Understanding what truly energises you at work can transform the way you approach goals, collaborate with others and manage challenge and change. When people work from their strengths, they experience greater confidence, resilience and wellbeing, and teams perform at their best.
The School Performance team is offering staff and leaders a valuable opportunity to gain insight into strengths and how to use them deliberately at work, with flexible options for individuals and teams.

What is Skills Discovery?
The Skills Discovery Strength Profile, formerly known as Strengths Profile, is a robust psychometric assessment grounded in positive psychology and occupational psychology research. It is designed to provide reliable insight into how people perform and how energising their work behaviours are, supporting sustainable development and wellbeing.
The assessment is completed online and takes around 20 minutes. You receive a personalised report identifying:
- realised strengths
- unrealised strengths
- learned behaviours
- weaknesses
Unlike other tools such as CliftonStrengths or Gallup, Skills Discovery not only identifies strengths but also highlights where you gain and lose energy. This distinction is critical, as sustainable performance depends not just on capability, but on how energising the work is over time.
Your personalised debrief
Following completion of your profile, Tammy will guide you through your results in a one-on-one debrief session. This supportive and practical conversation helps you to:
- understand your results in the context of your role
- recognise patterns in how you approach work and challenge
- unlock unrealised strengths for growth and adaptability
- develop strategies to reduce reliance on draining behaviours
The focus is on practical insight you can apply immediately.
Why is this valuable?
For individuals
Understanding your strengths allows you to make intentional choices about how you work, set goals that energise you and build confidence and resilience. Every day, talent is lost simply because people do not know what their strengths are or how to put them to work.
For teams and leaders
Teams that understand each other’s strengths collaborate more effectively, communicate with greater trust and navigate pressure more successfully. Strengths-based development supports leaders to bring out the best in their people.
For our organisation
A strengths-based approach supports engagement, productivity and wellbeing, all of which contribute to our shared mission. This work aligns closely with Catholic Education’s commitment to recognising the dignity, gifts and potential of every person.
